Dear GameTrack Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m a user from the Chinese-speaking region, and I’ve been enjoying using your software to organize my game library. The core feature—tracking gameplay status—is particularly valuable to me. However, I’ve noticed some ambiguities in the current status labels as they appear in the localized version, and I’d like to share some thoughts and suggestions for your consideration.
Currently, the statuses are translated as: 进行中 (Playing), 收藏 (Collected), 已排队 (Queued), and 已存档 (Archived). While I understand the intent behind these labels, I find a few of them less clear in practice. Below I outline my observations and propose a refined set of statuses that might better serve users in my region—and potentially others as well.
“收藏” (Collected)
This label seems ambiguous. Since the main view already displays all games in my library, it effectively functions as a master list. Having “Collected” as a separate status feels redundant—unless it means “in library but not yet played” (i.e., sitting idle). If the latter is intended, I’d suggest renaming it to something like “In Library (Backlog)” or “Idle” to make its purpose clearer.
“已排队” (Queued)
This status is very useful. It clearly represents games I plan to tackle in the near future, and I’ve noticed it aligns well with the “Backlog Challenge” feature on the homepage. Being able to organize a selection of interesting and challenging games here, and even use a random picker, is a great experience. No changes needed here—it works well as is.
“已存档” (Archived)
This is where the biggest confusion lies. In Chinese, “Archived” can mean either “paused temporarily” or “completed and filed away.” These are two very different situations. For example, I may take a break from a demanding game like Elden Ring after weeks of play, intending to return later—this calls for a “Paused” state. On the other hand, after earning the Platinum trophy, I’d want to mark it as “Perfectly Completed” or “100% Done.” Currently, “Archived” tries to cover both, which makes it unclear. I believe splitting this into two distinct statuses would greatly improve clarity.
Wishlist
The Wishlist feature is fine, but I think it would be beneficial to add a counterpart—something like “Not Interested”—to help manage games outside the library more effectively.
Completed
Within the “Completed” category, I’d love to see a further distinction between “Main Story Completed” and “All Achievements / 100% Completed.” This would give a more accurate picture of my progress and satisfaction.
Suggested New Status Set
Based on the above, I’d propose the following expanded and clarified status list:
Wishlist / Not Interested
In Library (Idle / Unplayed)
Queued (Up Next)
Playing (In Progress)
Paused (Temporarily on Hold)
Abandoned (Dropped)
Completed – Main Story
Completed – 100% / All Achievements
I believe these categories would be more intuitive for Chinese-speaking users and could also offer greater granularity for users worldwide. I truly appreciate the work you’ve put into this software, and I hope my feedback is helpful as you continue to refine it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestions. I’d be happy to provide further clarification if needed.
Best regards
